overview

We have undertaken extensive work into the rural lands that apply across the MidCoast as part of our draft Rural Strategy.

We received 431 submissions on the draft Strategy which we have used to develop the final ‘Rural Strategy – The Way Forward' document.

The Way Forward document, which was adopted by Council in December 2022, provides clear direction for key issues raised during the exhibition of the draft Rural Strategy and will be used to inform our new MidCoast Local Environmental Plan.

Draft MidCoast Local Environmental Plan

This project forms part of the overall MidCoast Local Environment Plan.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live, the Gathang-speaking people and pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who now reside in the MidCoast Council area. We extend our respect to elders past and present, and to all future cultural-knowledge holders.
